Someone asked me recently, why not tell readers a bit about yourself? I thought, well that may not be such a bad idea. I mean, who doesn’t like to know a little bit about the person who wrote a book you’ve just read? So, here are a few insights into the person behind the book.
California Girl
I’ve lived in the Golden State all my life. Nor Cal, if that makes any difference to folks. I love the beach though I’m nowhere near it, the lack of snow in my particular area of California, Poppies, and the long growing season for my veggie garden (more about that in a minute).

And I LOVE the Summer. Can’t stand the cold. Now, I’m not diggin’ the whole 115 degree thing (cough Climate Change cough), that’s just nuts! But being warm and able to swim, warm summer nights, flip flops—now that’s my thing. 🌞
My love for my home state just may play a large part in my next book (did she just say next book?). So keep an eye out for an homage to the Golden State coming down a dusty CA road…😉
#Momlife and Date Nights
I’m a lucky and exhausted mother of two🩷💙. My daughter is 7 ½ and son is 6 (do the math, it was a LOT of diapers at the same time, sob). I could go on and on about how much these two kiddos have made my life better, and I’m sure you readers would nod politely and then move on, because it’s not like I’m the first one to gush about the amazing things their children have done. That being said: my kids ARE amazing! As a writer, I’m looking for inspiration in many places and these two have given me so much. Not to mention the pure joy they had when I published my book: “You’re famous now Mama!” my son said. “I’m gonna tell all my friends my mom’s an author!” my daughter said. To me, that means I’ve made it. 😊
My dear husband and I are super proud parents, but don’t mind a break once in a while. And thankfully we have family who love spending time with the kiddos as much as us, and give us time to go to a coffee house, grab tacos, or walk around Barnes & Noble. It’s the little things! As I’ve written before, he’s been and still is my biggest supporter.❤️
Save the Pollinators!

One hobby of mine is gardening. Where I live is a great area for veggie gardening. Tomatoes and herbs in the Summer, broccoli and sugar snap peas in the Fall/Winter. Outside in the garden I let my mind wander off into the weird lands and odd ideas that drift through my brain.
Dear husband and I also have a love for native plants and ones that help our pollinators. We’ve added so many area native plants, including one that should bring around a local butterfly once it’s bigger!

Like so many of you, I’m worried about our planet. We do what we can to live a green life, doing our part, limiting our plastic, thinking green, and teaching the kids how to help Mother Earth. It’s not easy, but I’m hopeful.🌎
Reading
Well you had to know this was going to be on here! Reading goes hand-in-hand with writing.

Maybe it was all those episodes of Reading Rainbow I watched as a kid (Thank You, Mr. Burton!!) Though it was probably all the reading my folks did with me as a kid. My favorite book of all time is Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. My dad read it to me when I was four, and I’ve been in love with it ever since 🐇. My favorite author though is Stephen King (make of that what you will!). I’m a Constant Reader, being especially a fan of The Gunslinger and The Stand. I also love fantasy, Sci-fi, steampunk, classic novels, and whatever tickles my fancy! If you’re interested, check out my Goodreads page!
Honestly though, since the kids came along, I haven’t been able to read as much as I used to. Except for kid’s books! Dear Husband and I make it a goal to read to them All.The.Time. and it’s paid off. Currently we’re reading a chose-your-own-adventure style book based on The Oregon Trail computer game from when we were kids, how cool is that? Thankfully the kiddos love stories and reading as much as we do. I hope they continue to love reading.📖
Phew. Well that was a lot, and yet a little. Now it’s your turn! I’d love to know more about the people reading my blog, and hopefully reading my book. Anyone else from California? Anyone else like Stephen King? Anyone else hate the cold as much as I do? (doubtful!) Leave me a comment! Or follow me on Facebook and Instagram. Cheers!
