Like I mentioned before, the kiddos and I are doing a Summer Reading challenge through our local library and we hit the ground running! 📘

Together we read Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell which was a favorite of mine in elementary school. And both of them picked out books to read on their own. They have been so excited to earn their Summer Reading medals. 🏅

Just as I was taught a love of reading as a kid by my parents, it’s so fun to keep it going by helping my own kiddos learn to love books! And I know I wouldn’t have become an indie author if I hadn’t been read to as a kid. ✍️

Reading is so very powerful. Would it be strange to say, “But you don’t have to take my world for it?” 🌈📖
